Mr. Mekonnen speaks fluent Amharic and offers behind-the-wheel driving lessons fully in Amharic for students who feel more comfortable learning in their first language. Classroom instruction is conducted in English, but Mr. Mekonnen can communicate with you in Amharic throughout, and your BTW lessons can be entirely in Amharic.

International license holders: the RSEP program
Hyattsville and Langley Park are home to one of the most diverse communities in the DMV. If you hold a driver's license from another country and are applying for a Maryland license, MVA requires you to complete the Roadway Safety Education Program (RSEP) — a 3-hour course that covers Maryland traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices.
